Sorbic acid
Inhibits the growth of mold and yeast. It is not effective against bacteria (except lactic acid bacteria). Sorbic acid is very widely used in the food industry.
Potassium sorbate
Potassium salt of sorbic acid. it has better solubility than sorbic acid. Used as a preservative, among others in the bakery, dairy and drink industries.
Potassium sorbate is also used in the production of cosmetics and cigarettes.
Sodium benzoate
Inhibits the growth of yeast, mold, buttery, acetic and lactic bacteria. Sodium benzoate is very widely used not only in the food industry but also in cosmetics and the production of medicines and toothpastes.
